PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest

January 1, 2023 to February 28, 2023

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Contest only open to residents of Ontario who are 18 years or older and who have a valid Winner’s Edge Account as set out herein.

The PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (“OLG” or the “Sponsor”). The Contest is managed by Splashdot (the “Contest Manager”), acting on behalf of the Sponsor for the purposes of this Contest. The Contest fulfillment is managed by The Marco Corporation (the “Contest Administrator”), acting on behalf of the Sponsor for the purposes of this Contest. Prizes and the fulfillment thereof are managed by the Marco Corporation (“Prize Supplier”).

The Contest commences January 1, 2023 at 12:00:00 a.m. ET and ends on February 28, 2023 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. (the “Contest Entry Period”).

By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”) and further agree that the decisions of the Sponsor,the Contest Manager and the Contest Administrator are final, binding and conclusive on all matters related to this Contest (without right of appeal).

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY AND CHANCES OF WINNING

  1. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Contest is not open to the following individuals who, at the time of participating, are:
    1. Volunteers, employees, officers, and directors of:
      1. the Sponsor, including full-time, part-time, and student employees, persons directly on the Sponsor’s payroll, and employees of the Sponsor that are on paid or unpaid leave;
      2. the Sponsor’s advertising, promotion, and contest management agencies;
      3. the Contest Manager or the Contest Administrator; or
      4. the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (“AGCO”);
    2. Members of OLG’s Board of Directors;
    3. Directors, officers, partners, and sole proprietors of OLG’s authorized retailers, or paid or unpaid, full time, part time, and student employees of OLG’s authorized retailers who are engaged in any manner in the handling of lottery tickets, including without limitation the activation, sale, validation or the redemption of lottery tickets are not eligible to participate in this Contest, by themselves or as a member of a group, by way of purchasing or receiving a lottery ticket from the retailer location with which he/she is associated, and are not entitled to claim any prize resulting from their participation contrary to these Rules or contrary to any applicable policy of OLG.
    4. Individual consultants or public-sector employees retained by OLG through contracts of retainer, for periods of service of thirty (30) days or more in the aggregate.
  2. For the purpose of this Contest, a “Lottery Retailer” means a person/entity contracted by the Sponsor to sell lottery tickets and provide lottery services at a retail location.
  3. An entrant who meets requirements (1),(2), and (3) of Rule 1 will be deemed an eligible participant (each, an “Eligible Participant”, and collectively the “Eligible Participants”).
  4. In the event that an entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein, or in the event that a previously Eligible Participant no longer meets the eligibility requirements set forth herein, as determined by the Sponsor, Contest Manager, and Contest Administrator in their sole and absolute discretion, then such participant shall be disqualified and there shall be no obligation to award any Prizes to such entrant.
  5. Chances of winning a Weekly Prize or the Grand Prize in the Contest (each, a “Prize” and collectively, the “Prizes”) are dependent on the number of eligible Entries received for the Grand Prize Draw (as defined below in Rule 11) and Weekly Prize Draws (as defined below in Rule 12) during the Contest Entry Period.
  6. The Contest takes place in Ontario, Canada.

HOW TO ENTER (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY)

  1. Eligible Participants must first have a Winner’s Edge account in order to participate in the Contest. If an Eligible Participant does not have a Winner’s Edge account, the Eligible Participant must visit profile.olg.ca or the Contest website pickscontest.olg.ca (“Contest Website”) and navigate to the “Sign Up” to register an account by submitting their name, address, email address, phone number, and date of birth. Once a Winner’s Edge account is created, the Eligible Participant can participate in the Contest by visiting pickscontest.olg.ca and following the methods of entry described below.
  2. Eligible Participants may enter the Contest and receive an Entry (each, an “Entry”, and collectively, the “Entries”) by taking the following steps:
    1. Eligible Participants must during the Contest Entry Period log in by clicking “Log In” on pickscontest.olg.ca, then input their Winner’s Edge account credentials as referenced in Rule 8, and acknowledge their acceptance of the PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest Rules and Regulations. Eligible Participants can receive up to a maximum of fifty (50) valid purchased ticket numbers per calendar day not exceeding fifty (50) per calendar day, as determined solely by the Contest Administrator.
    2. Eligible Participants who successfully follow the steps outlined in Rule 8(a) will earn a maximum of one (1) Entry into the Grand Prize Draw and one (1) Entry into a Weekly Prize Draw (exact weekly draw determined by when the Log In occurs).
    1. How to Earn Additional Entries: An Eligible Participant will earn additional entries for this Contest by following the rules set out below:
      1. Eligible Tickets: For this Contest, only PICK-2, PICK-3 and PICK-4 tickets available for purchase on OLG.ca and at retail (each, an “Eligible Ticket” and collectively, “Eligible Tickets”) will be accepted for Entry in accordance with Rules 8(2)(b), (c), and (d).
      2. Weekly Prize Entry: An Eligible Participant will earn one (1) Entry for the Weekly Prize Draw for each Eligible Ticket purchased and registered during the Contest Period. Limit of 50 entries each day of the Contest Period. To register an Eligible Ticket, an Eligible Participant must click “Log In” on pickscontest.olg.ca, input their Winner’s Edge account credentials as referenced in Rule 7, click Enter Your Ticket Number Now, and enter the unique ticket number.

        Grand Prize Entry: An Eligible Participant will earn one (1) Entry for the Grand Prize Draw for this Contest, up to a total of fifty (50) times per day, every day during the Contest Period for each Eligible Ticket purchased and registered. To register an Eligible Ticket, an Eligible Participant must click “Log In” on pickscontest.olg.ca, input their Winner’s Edge account credentials as referenced in Rule 7, click Enter Your Ticket Number Now, and enter the unique ticket number.
      3. Bonus Grand Prize Entry: An Eligible Participant will earn one (1) bonus Entry into the Grand Prize Draw for every three (3) Eligible Tickets purchased and registered in accordance with Rule 8(2)(c).
      4. No Purchase Necessary (“NPN”) Entry: in order to earn one (1) Entry into the Grand Prize Draw and one (1) Entry into the Weekly Prize Draw without purchasing an Eligible Ticket, Eligible Participants must accept the OLG PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest Rules and Regulations in accordance with Rule 8(a) and perform the following actions:
        1. Print, type or handwrite their first name, last name, full address (Street, Apt./Suite, City/Town, Province, Postal Code), email address, day and evening telephone numbers, date of birth, and the words “I agree to the OLG PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest Rules and Regulations” clearly on one (1) page of 8 ½” x 11” paper (letter-size), and mail it to the “OLG PICKS Big Bonus Draw Contest”, PO Box 4099, Paris, ON N3L 4B2, maximum one (1) paper per envelope. All NPN Entry requests must be received no later than February 28, 2023 at 11:59:59 pm. The email address provided in the letter must match the Eligible Participant’s Winner’s Edge Account email address.
        2. A limit of one (1) NPN Entry will be provided per unique request. NPN Entries may take up to 48 hours from receipt to be processed by the Contest Administrator.
        3. Eligible Participants who correctly follow the instructions noted above will receive one (1) Entry into the Grand Prize Draw and one (1) Entry into the Weekly Prize Draw for each valid NPN request. Once the Contest Administrator has received and validated the participant’s entry request, the Contest Administrator will submit an Entry to the user’s Winner’s Edge account as long as the email address in their account is valid.
        4. An Eligible Participant will earn one (1) bonus Entry into the Grand Prize Draw for every three (3) NPN Entries submitted in accordance with Rule 8(2)(e)(i).
        5. Eligible Participants can receive up to a maximum of fifty (50) valid NPN Entries per calendar day, or up to fifty (50) valid purchased ticket numbers per calendar day, or any combination of the two not exceeding fifty (50) per calendar day, as determined solely by the Contest Administrator. Sharing of ticket numbers or Codes is prohibited and will result in disqualification from the Contest.

PRIZES

  1. There will be a total of seventeen prizes available to be won during this Contest. The Grand Prize has a cash value of Ten Thousand dollars ($10,000 CAD) as set out in Rule 11. The Weekly Prizes each have a cash value of One Thousand dollars ($1,000 CAD) for first prize and Two Hundred Fifty dollars ($250 CAD) for second prize as set out in Rule 12.

PRIZE DRAWS

  1. Grand Prize Draw - Valid Entries received during the Contest Entry Period will be entered in a grand prize draw (the "Grand Prize Draw") to occur on March 1, 2023. One (1) winning Entry will be selected by random draw from among all eligible Grand Prize Draw Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Entry Period (the “Draw”). Additionally, ten (10) alternate draw entries (“Back-up Entries”), will be randomly selected to be used, in the order they were drawn, for the Grand Prize, in the event that the winning entry initially drawn, and/or one or more of the Back-up Entries do not qualify as per the contest eligibility requirements.

    January 1, 2023, at 12:00:00 am to February 28, 2023 at 11:59:59 pm March 1, 2023 Cash value of Ten Thousand Canadian dollars ($10,000 CAD).
  2. Weekly Prize Draw - Valid Entries received during the Contest Entry Periods will be entered into that week’s prize draw (the “Weekly Prize Draws Date”) to occur on dates provided below (see chart). Two (2) winning Entries will be selected by random draw during each of the contest periods provided below (see chart) from among all eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Entry Period (the “Draw”).
    1st Weekly Prize Draw One Thousand dollars ($1,000 CAD)
    2nd Weekly Prize Draw Two Hundred Fifty dollars ($250 CAD)
    Additionally, ten (10) Back-up Entries, will be randomly selected to be used, in the order they were drawn, for each Weekly Prize Draw, in the event that a winning entry initially drawn, and/or one or more of the Back-up Entries do not qualify as per the contest eligibility requirements.

    All entries are eligible for both the Grand Prize draw and one weekly prize for the week’s draw your ticket is entered.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

  1. Attempts will be made by the Contest Administrator to contact each Eligible Participant who submitted a winning Entry (the “Potential Winner”). The Potential Winner will be contacted through their email address and/or phone number provided with his/her registration information associated with Winner’s Edge account. The Potential Winner must return any message sent by the Contest Administrator within the 72 hours from when the message was sent or the timeframe stipulated in the message to remain eligible to receive the Prize. Prize claiming details will be provided at the time of contact. It remains the responsibility of the Eligible Participant to ensure the contact information entered at the registration process is accurate as of the date of contact. OLG, the Contest Manager, and the Contest Administrator will not be responsible for any inaccurate or outdated contact information.
  2. If within 72 hours of the first attempt to contact a Potential Winner has not responded or confirmed for the respective Prize or is otherwise found to be ineligible to receive the Prize, their Entry will be deemed invalid and they will be disqualified from winning any Prize. The Back-up Entries will be utilized according to the order in which they were drawn (in the event that one or more Back-Up Entries are ineligible), and the process will continue until such time as a winner is declared or until there are no remaining Entries to select from.
  3. Prior to being confirmed as a winner, a selected Potential Winner will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid. Without limiting the generality of the forgoing, the Released Parties (as defined below in Rule 15) reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternative test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law.
  4. Eligible Participants acknowledge that the Sponsor and all involved advertising and promotional agencies, the Contest Manager, Contest Administrator, the AGCO, the Prize Supplier and other suppliers providing Prizes or other materials or services in connection with this Contest, anyone else involved in the development or execution of this Contest, each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (the “Released Parties”) are not responsible in any manner whatsoever, for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any Prize(s), including but not limited to, its quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing, or acts of any government or authority. In no event will the Released Parties be collectively liable for more than the approximate Prize amount.
  5. The winner of the Contest, in advance of receiving their Prize, will be required to sign a declaration and release form confirming eligibility, compliance with these Rules, and releasing OLG, Splashdot, The Marco Corporation, and their respective employees, affiliates and subsidiaries, franchisees, authorized retailers, agents, contractors, representatives, advertising, promotion and contest management agencies, and any independent judging organization from any liability, claims, damages and/or responsibility in connection with the conduct of this Contest or the awarding or use of any Prize(s).
  6. Eligible Participants agree that a photo or video, name, and residence (town or city only) of prize winners may be posted, published, or announced on the contest website, the OLG website and/or other media or social media for up to twenty-four (24) months after the selected Potential Winner is confirmed as a winner, and that they will receive no compensation for such posting, publication, or announcement.
  7. If no winner is declared for any Prize, that Prize will not be awarded.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

  1. Any personal information collected by OLG or on OLG’s behalf by the Contest Manager and/or Contest Administrator, including but not limited to entrants’ contact information, is collected pursuant to section 3 of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act, 1999 and is intended to be used for the following purposes: to conduct and administer the Contest by OLG or through a Contest Manager or Contest Administrator, including, but not limited to contacting entrants, validating eligibility and the awarding of the Prize(s); marketing and advertising purposes including providing individuals with information or services they have opted in to receive, understanding their interests, responding to their concerns and improving service delivery; for OLG's internal business purposes and to comply with legal requirements. GENERAL

  1. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, assignments, or transfers of prizes permitted, except at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
  2. The Sponsor and/or Contest Manager reserve the right to terminate, modify or withdraw this Contest and the Prize(s), in whole or in part (including altering the manner in which the Prizes are distributed and whether certain Prizes will be awarded), at any time and for any reason without prior notice, and to disqualify any individual who tampers with the Entry process, violates these Rules, or acts in a disruptive manner. Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager may lock out any entrant who, in the Sponsor’s or the Contest Manager’s sole judgment, has been disqualified, has questionable eligibility, or is otherwise ineligible to enter the Contest. Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager reserve the right to alter any of the time frames, the number and content of and value of the Prizes, and any other aspect associated with this Contest.
  3. These Rules are subject to change (including, but not limited to, changing the value and number of Prizes, the contest dates and times, or the draw dates and times) in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager, and an Eligible Participant’s continued participation in this contest signifies the acceptance of the revised Rules.
  4. Any individual who attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest or to alter or damage the Contest Website or the OLG App may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties and fines. The Sponsor and Contest Manager reserve the right to seek damages, whether direct or consequential, from any such individual to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  5. The Sponsor, Contest Manager, and the Contest Administrator assume no responsibility for: (i) Entries lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected; (ii) for the failure, interruption or delay of any mail or email or other communication to be received, for any reason; (iii) any computer viruses, time bombs, logic bombs and any other implanted devices of a like or similar nature that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest; (iv) problems with the function of any website or website feature howsoever caused; (v) the malfunction of, or damage caused to, any telephone network or lines, computer equipment, data or software, online systems, servers or access providers; (vi) any functionality lost due to not having cookies enabled; traffic congestion on the Internet; (vii) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks; (viii) for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer “hackers”; or (ix) any combination thereof, as a result of participation in this Contest.
  6. Entries that have been obtained or made through fraudulent means are subject to disqualification. The Sponsor, Contest Manager, and Contest Administrator will not be responsible for Entries that are lost, misdirected, or delayed for any reason whatsoever. An entrant is only allowed to register for a Winner’s Edge account once. More than one registration will invalidate ALL Entries submitted by the person who created the duplicate accounts and each such account will be disqualified. None of the accounts deemed, in the Contest Manager’s sole discretion, to have been entered by this person will be eligible to win ANY Prize. Once registered, only an entrant’s email address and password will be required when visiting pickscontest.olg.ca.
  7. It is expressly understood and agreed by all entrants that OLG, Splashdot, and The Marco Corporation do not accept responsibility, in whole or in part, for loss, damage or injury, whether direct or indirect, howsoever caused in connection with any Prize or the conduct of the Contest.
  8. With respect to this Contest, all decisions of the Contest Manager, Contest Administrator, and Sponsor are final and binding with no right of appeal.
  9. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted with the Entry in question will be deemed to be the Eligible Participant for the purposes of the Contest. The individual assigned to the email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered the authorized account holder. A Potential Winner may be required to provide proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Entry in question and is otherwise required to meet all eligibility requirements set out in these Rules. Failure to do so may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Manager and/or the Sponsor.
  10. In the event of any conflict with any provisions contained in these Rules and details contained in any form of related promotional material or media (the “Contest Materials”), these Rules shall prevail.
  11. Draw dates and times are subject to change without notice.
  12. All winning Entries for the Contest will be destroyed by the Contest Manager on or after three (3) years from the corresponding draw date, with all other Entries for the Contest being destroyed by the Contest Manager on or after two (2) years from the corresponding draw date.
  13. This Contest is subject to the laws of the Province of Ontario and the Federal laws of Canada as applicable.
  14. These Rules govern this Contest and must be complied with. By agreeing to participate in the Contest, all entrants agree to comply with, and be bound by these Rules.
  15. The insertion of subheadings in these Rules are for convenience and reference purposes only and will not affect the construction or interpretation of these Rules. All sums of money that are referred to in these Rules are expressed in the lawful money of Canada. References to “discretion”, “sole discretion”, or “solely” mean the absolute, sole, unqualified, subjective discretion of the party having or exercising such discretion. In the event any part of these Rules is found to be void or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of these Rules shall operate to the fullest extent permissible by law.
  16. The Sponsor may, in its sole and absolute discretion, extend this contest for any reason it deems appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, satisfying promotional integrity issues, technical errors or issues, and in the event the Sponsor has not sold all eligible tickets by the close of the Contest Entry Period.
  17. All times and dates refer to Eastern Time ("ET").
